A Plan for West Devon

On 28 September 2021, West Devon Borough Council Councillors agreed to adopt a 20-year vision for the Borough that will help businesses and residents to thrive.

Developed through an ongoing consultation, 'A Plan for West Devon’ sets out the strategic direction for the Council and Borough as a whole for years to come.

The plan is a working document that is amended and updated as time goes on by member led advisory groups. These groups can react to changing priorities, look to the future and ensure that the document remains relevant and reactive.

Take a look at the adopted plan below.

On 20 July, full Council agreed to start a formal public consultation on the plan, giving the public the chance to share their thoughts on what is needed to make West Devon a better place to live, work and visit. The consultation started on July 26 2021 and ran for six weeks.

Thank you to everyone who got involved to share their views.

Earlier this summer, we also asked you how you see West Devon as a place to live, work and play through our short survey and photo competition. Take a look in the plan to see some of the wonderful entries we received.
